Namibia

Namibia is known for the contrasting landscapes. Namibia’s desolate desert is said to be the oldest in the world, with its famous high dunes and an imposing feeling of space. Inland, the cliffs of a north-south plateau descend east and north into a vast basin of inland Kalahari sand. In the far northwest, the mountains of Kaokoland run along the coast, while the Etosha Pan (a dry saline lake), surrounded by grassland and woodland, is the home for a wide variety of wildlife. This is definitely not an African destination to be overlooked. When William Blake wrote the words “to see the world in a grain of sand and the sky in a wild flower”, he must have been dreaming of Namibia.
